Surfing is held once every two years. The first world surfing championship was held in Manley, Australia in 1962. The surfing competition is mainly based on the quantity and quality of surfing completed by the athletes within the specified time. The score is based on the 20 point system, such as three waves in 30 minutes or six waves in 45 minutes, and then the score is based on the starting, turning, sliding distance and the difficulty of selecting waves. In order to develop this sport, some countries also use motorboats to tow surfboards in inland lakes or rivers. When the speed of the motorboat reaches 20 kilometers per hour, it can provide powerful waves. When an athlete feels the waves pushing him forward, he can release the traction rope and slide on his own.
